Sesame seed baby!

Just about 4w5d and this is what you look like! Pretty amazing to think about all the growth and development that happens in just 40 weeks!

So, you are already the beginning of YOU!

Today, I tested, after not feeling too well, and, we are pregnant!

We cannot be more excited and shocked and overjoyed and scared and well, every emotion under the sun.

This is how it happened (finding out we are pregnant, not the play by play on how we made you).

I had to go to work today in CT and wasn't feeling very well, tired, backache, hot flashes etc.  I did what I have to do and on the way home I figured "what the heck... might as well buy a test."  So I went to the dollar store and bought 2.  I came home and raced past Minnie who was whining to go out and I peed on the stick :).  I waited a few minutes and to my amazement, a VERY faint line, but "a line is a line and any line is positive."  So, I called Auntie Val and she assured me that I should go out and buy another test.  So, I did.

I went to the CVS down the road and of course, the Pharmacist on duty just happens to be one of Daddy's friends.  Of course, the tests are kept behind the counter - couldn't risk him knowing I was testing (or thinking I am pregnant and spreading rumors) so I bolted out of there, back in the car and went to Walgreens.  

I got to Walgreens, got the tests and come out (realized I parked like a total idiot, right in the middle of two spots, crooked.)  I got home, raced up the stairs (past a whining Minnie, again) and tested.  Immediate positive.  We are pregnant.  We cannot wait to meet you.

I guess this is where the journey really begins!  We are about 4w3d and I estimate that you will be due on May 2, 2010 but we will have to wait another few weeks to see the doctor and they will confirm.

Wow, what a day :)  A happy day.  The beginning of the rest of our forever, a new chapter.  Lots and lots of sticky dust for you, little peanut!

The waiting game

Only time will tell now. I expect that I won't post again for the next week or so. We should know if our first month of TTC was successful on or around 8/27!

Our first positive ...

No, we aren't pregnant ... yet! I decided to try OPK's this month. They are little tests that predict ovulation by detecting a surge in LH hormone (through urine) which tells your body to release an egg aka ovulate. We got a positive this AM! Let the fun begin.

Just for fun, I google'd a possible EDD this morning. If we were to get pregnant this month, you would be due sometime around May 7, 2010! Only time will tell.

Obviously, someone has baby on the brain.

So, while sitting at work and snacking on some grapes, I looked down to see that I had three grapes remaining. My first thought was "shit, out of grapes" and then I saw a little grape family! Only me, only my silly, silly mind! Ha.

Our little secret, for the time being...

So today is August 11, 2009 and we are officially "trying" for you, whoever you are, whoever you will grow to be, when you are you (if that makes sense). I am keeping this blog so that you can one day look back and see how loved and anticipated you were from the very beginning, from day 1 from before there even was a "you."

Let the journey begin and come what may, we hope it is smooth sailing.
